نبذة مختصرة
New anti-ulcer preparations, pirenzepine and telenzepine, are structurally dissimilar to the classical cholinomimetics, atropine and hyoscine (scopolamine). However, they are all capable of provoking paradoxical salivation from the chronically parasympathetically denervated human parotid gland. The rates of the secretory responses to the typical and atypical cholinoblockers are found to be the same. This finding is discussed with respect to the general functional mechanism of the traditional and non-traditional antimuscarinic agents.
