Dichloromethane extracts of the stembark and root of Oroxylum indicum were found to have antimicrobial activities against Gram positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus), Gramnegative bacteria (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and a yeast (Candida albicans).
