LICORICE CAPSULES; 250 mg standardized extract (25% Glycyrrhizin - 62.5 mg) For 10 days, with measuring blood pressure daily.
Dose:
One capsule, twice daily, before meals. Boswellia serrata Gum Resin; B. serrate contains volatile oils (5-15%), pure resin (55-66%), and mucus (12-23%). The resin contains terpenoids, phenolic compounds, flavonoids, and phenylpropanoids. More than 12 different Boswellic acids have been identified, the amounts of 11-keto-β-boswellic acid KBA is 3-4.7% and acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid(AKBA) is 2.2-2.9%, Dose: 2 gm, 4 times daily For 15 days, Boswellia Gum Resin is administered by chewing for a half-hour

The Beneficial Effects of Pomegranate on Hearing of Patients Without Hemodialysis: A Prospective, Randomized, Double-blinded Clinical Trial

pure tone thresholds of 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000 Hz were measured.

The speech recognition threshold is the lowest hearing level at which speech can barely be recognized or understood. The SRT is defined as the lowest hearing level at which the patient correctly repeats 50% of a list of spondaic words. Examples are airplane, hot dog, outside, ice cream, and baseball. Usually a very soft level (db HL).

The SDS test tool is a single syllable word list. Each table consists of 50 words, such as, look, go. The test method is to listen to the subject at a volume higher than the SRT value of 20 to 40 dB (30 dB), so that the subject repeats the spoken word sound. Based on the percentage of correct answers, normal people can repeat 95 to 100% of the words, and 80% or less of them are bad discriminating power and affect the understanding of language. SDS is usually expressed in %.

Healthcare Cost Associated With Respiratory Illness

To determine if prophylactic use of azithromycin will reduce the total number of unscheduled face-to-face physician visit for respiratory related illness in a clinic, urgent care, emergency room or hospital setting during the following 12 months after the intervention.

Long Term Reduction in Respiratory Symptoms

To determine if prophylactic use of azithromycin will reduce level of airway resistance as measured by an Airwave Oscillometry System in subjects above 2 years of age, at the time of respiratory illnesses, during the 3-6 months intervention.

Level of Airway Conductance

Using a standardize nasal wash procedure, respiratory samples will be collected at enrollment, at end of study, and during acute respiratory illness requiring face-to-face provider interaction. Children with a tracheostomy will have both a nasal wash sample and a tracheal aspirate sample collected. The respiratory samples will be stabilized with a universal transport media, processed and stored at -80 C for future testing. Testing will be performed for cytokines/chemokines; other biomarkers of disease such as LDH, MPO, and caspase; viral and bacterial respiratory pathogens; and microbiome.
