It produces clusters of orange flowers against trailing stems of dark green leaves, from summer to winter.The specific epithet longicaulis means 'long-stemmed'.A. longicaulis is grown as a houseplant in temperate regions. It has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
