Abstract
Pemetrexed is an anti-metabolite that targets multiple enzymes in the folate pathway and it is indicated in the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung carcinoma and malignant pleural mesothelioma. On September, 2008, the U.S. FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved its use in combination with cisplatin for the initial treatment of patients with stage IIB/IV nonsquamous non-small cell lung carcinoma.
