Himatanthus drasticus is a tree popularly known as janaguba. Endemic to Brazil, it is found in the Cerrado and Caatinga biomes, rock fields, and rainforests. Janaguba latex has been used in folk medicine for its antineoplastic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antiallergic activities.
