OBJECTIVE
To study the chemical constituents of the rhizome of Matteuccia struthiopteris.
METHODS
The constituents were separated and purified by column chromatography with silica gel and Sephadex LH-20. Their structures were identified on the basis of physical and spectral data.

Two new C-methyl flavanones, (2S)-5,7-dihydroxy-6,8-dimethyl-4'-methoxydihydroflavone-7-O-(6″-O-acetyl)-β-d-glucopyranoside (1) and (2S)-5,7-dihydroxy-6,8-dimethyldihydroflavone-7-O-(6″-O-acetyl)-β-d-glucopyranoside (2), together with five known compounds,
