An Exploratory, Phase II, Open Label, Single-Center, Non-Randomized Study Of [F-18] RGD-K5 Positron Emission Tomography (PET) In Participants With Carotid Artery Stenosis

To assess the uptake of [F-18] RGD-K5 by carotid plaque with PET/MRI imaging in participants prior to carotid endarterectomy and thereby determine if carotid plaque that causes significant stenosis [in participants being considered for carotid endarterectomy (CEA)] is characterized by increased integrin expression and enhanced angiogenesis.

Grading per standard ASA guidelines:
ASA class I - normal healthy adult ASA class II - patients with mild systemic disease ASA class III - patients with severe systemic disease ASA class IV - patients with severe systemic disease that is a constant threat to life ASA class V - a moribund patient that is not expected to survive

American Society of Anesthesiologist Classification

Compare ultrasound-guided block of the transversus abdominis plane (TAP) vs laparoscopic-guided TAP block, versus no TAP block on opioid consumption in the first 24 hours. Patients hospital chart was queried for use of any intravenous opioid in the first 24 hours after surgery including fentanyl or hydromorphone and conversion to morphine per standard opioid dose conversion. Total morphine equivalents then summed for the 24 hour postoperative period and compared between groups.
