A 90 Day, Phase 4,Open Labeled Exploratory Study of RELiZORB

A 90 Day, Phase 4, Open Labeled Exploratory Study of RELiZORB to Evaluate Safety, Tolerability, and Nutrient Absorption in Children With Short Bowel Syndrome Who Are Dependent on Parenteral Nutrition

To determine the effectiveness of the RELiZORB enzyme cartridge on the absorption of enteral nutrition when used daily for a total 90 days of treatment, in pediatric subjects with SBS who are PN dependent, aged 5 years - 18 years, by measuring the change in PN calories from baseline, assessed at days 7, 14, 28, 60, and day 90. Each subject will be on the study for a total of 90 days.

Nutrition Support to Improve Outcomes in Patients With Unresectable Pancreatic Cancer

Body Composition: kilogram weight of lean body mass

All subjects will be provided a pedometer to record daily steps.

A 6 minute walk will be done at each visit.

Measured with short form health survey (SF36)

Appetite will be measured on a numerical rating scale between 0 and 10, where 0 indicated absolutely no appetite and 10 indicated an extremely good appetite (Simons et al, 1996)

The study will be limited to NHS patients to reduce complications associated with the need for additional funding authorisations from private health care providers for algorithm-instigated investigations. It is not envisaged that participation in other studies running within the GI unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital will preclude entry into this study except in the event of those rare studies where the study is specifically measuring toxicity of treatment as the primary end point.
