The Oroxylum indicum is used traditionally to treat fever, colic, stomach ulcers, constipation, indigestion, intestinal worms, strangury, asthma, cough, hiccough, diarrhea, dysentery and wounds by the herbal healers of Mizoram and it is also part of Ayurvedic formulations.
