[Early diagnosis of endometrial precancer and cancer by combined use of progesterone test and transvaginal ultrasonography in high risk groups of patients with diabetes, blood hypertension, and obesity].

In our research work we decided to combine the use of progesterone challenge test and transvaginal sonography in women from the risky groups: diabetes mellitus, obesity and blood hypertension. Our research work was performed for 10 years period /1995 till 2005/. We have chosen the cut off point of 4 mm for endometrial thickness. In the group with diabetes we found 9 atypical glandular hyperplasias and 2 endometrial cancers. In the group with blood hypertension we found 6 atypical glandular hyperplasias and 1 endometrial cancer. The screening in the obesity group found 2 adenocancers and 8 atypical glandular hyperplasias. The sensitivity of our method was 95% and specificity 98%.
