Using biotinylated Arachis hypogaea agglutinin (AHA) or peanut lectin (PNA) and an avidin-peroxidase procedure, the various stages of spermatid development were visualised with great clarity; a light haematoxylin counterstain permitted the easy recognition of spermatogenic cells in the same section.
