We investigated the anesthetic management of patients with congenital insensitivity to pain and anhidrosis (CIPA) in Japan. CIPA is a rare inherited disease characterized by a lack of pain sensation and thermoregulation. Although lacking pain sensation, some patients do have tactile hyperesthesia.
