A 17-year-old male presented in an agitated, deranged state with rapidly increasing swelling of the neck. Except for regular abuse of cannabis there was no medical history of note. He had a sinus tachycardia (130 bpm), a slow pupillary reflex, bilateral hyposphagma and subcutaneous emphysema

This case illustrates an unusual physical sequel of psychogenic vomiting.

A 22-year-old man with a picture of psychogenic vomiting and marijuana use developed the complications of a pneumomediastinum and subcutaneous emphysema.

Pneumomediastinum may occur during marijuana inhalation but only rarely has pneumorachis (epidural pneumatosis or aerorachia) been reported. The usual mechanisms that produce pneumomediastinum include severe acute asthma, toxic-induced bronchial hyperreactivity, and barotrauma caused by Valsalva's
