Foliar symptoms suggestive of virus infection were observed on the ornamental plant hoya (Hoya spp.; commonly known as waxflower) in Florida. An agent that reacted with commercially available tobamovirus detection reagents was mechanically transmitted to Chenopodium quinoa and Nicotiana benthamiana.
