BACKGROUND
Primary esophageal rhabdomyosarcoma (PER) is a very rare neoplasm with only 15 cases reported in the literature. Of those, only 1 case underwent a preoperative cytologic evaluation. We report a case of PER with diagnosis by imprint cytology.
METHODS
A 55-year-old woman presented with
Pazopanib, an oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor, is the first molecular-targeted agent approved for the treatment of advanced soft tissue sarcoma(STS). Rhabdomyosarcoma in adults is rare, accounting for less than 3%of all adult STS cases. A 57-year old woman presented with cervical lymphadenopathy.
A 15-year-old man with the chief complaint of general fatigue was referred to our hospital on November 11, 1993. Bilateral percutaneous nephrostomy was performed for postrenal anuria. X-ray examinations revealed a huge intrapelvic tumor, and it was histopathologically diagnosed as rhabdomyosarcoma
A 14-year-old boy presented with a short history of general fatigue. Laboratory examination of the peripheral blood revealed white blood cells 11,300/microl, hemoglobin 10.4 g/dl, platelets 45,000/microl, fibrinogen < 50 mg/dl, fibrin/fibrinogen degradation products 536 microg/ml and lactate
OBJECTIVE
To determine the toxicity, efficacy and pharmacokinetics of trabectedin given over 24h every 3 weeks to children with recurrent rhabdomyosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, or non-rhabdomyosarcoma soft tissue sarcomas.
METHODS
Trabectedin was administered as a 24-h intravenous infusion every 21 days.
BACKGROUND
Alveolar rhabdomyosarcomas (ARMSs) can harbour MET and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) alterations. We prospectively assessed crizotinib in patients with advanced/metastatic ARMS.
METHODS
Eligible patients with a central diagnosis of ARMS received oral crizotinib 250 mg twice daily.
BACKGROUND
Pemetrexed is a multi-targeted antifolate that inhibits key enzymes involved in nucleotide biosynthesis. We performed a phase 2 trial of pemetrexed in children with refractory or recurrent solid tumors, including CNS tumors, to estimate the response rate and further define its toxicity
From 1970 to 1986, 3 males and 6 females, ranging in age from 13 to 69 years (median 45 years), underwent heart surgery for a primary cardiac tumor. Six patients had a left atrial myxoma; a lipofibroma, a lymphosarcoma and a rhabdomyosarcoma were found each in 1 patient. The following complaints
BACKGROUND
Based on evidence of activity in preclinical and Phase I studies, the authors undertook a study of bortezomib, a reversible proteasome inhibitor, for patients with metastatic sarcomas.
METHODS
Two arms were opened, each using a Simon two-stage design. Arm A included patients with
Purpose: Pazopanib, a multireceptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting primarily VEGFRs1-3, is approved for advanced soft tissue sarcoma (STS) and renal cell cancer. Downstream of VEGFR, trametinib is an FDA-approved MEK inhibitor used for melanoma. We hypothesized that vertical pathway inhibition
Neutropenic pediatric patients with solid tumors and malignant lymphomas were treated with recombinant granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (rh-GM-CSF). Eleven patients, including seven lympho-reticular malignancies, two Ewing's sarcoma and one patient in each group with the diagnosis of
Immune checkpoint inhibitors targeting PD-1 have shown clinical benefit in adults with cancer, but data on these drugs in children are scarce. We did a phase 1-2 study of nivolumab, a PD-1 blocking monoclonal antibody, to determine its safety, pharmacokinetics, and antitumour activity
