[Lipid peroxidation and antioxidant system in treatment dynamics of patients with chronic gastritis].

Abstrakt

POL (peroxidation of lipids) processes in GMM (gastric mucous membrane) and blood have been studied in 107 CG (chronic gastritis) patients in relation to gastritis activity and GMM contamination with H. Pylori. The author studied also treatment dynamics, with vitamin E being additionally prescribed. Concentration of primary POLs (diene, oxodiene, triene and tetraene conjugates) in GMM and secondary POLs (malonic dialdehyde) in blood have been determined along with the determination of general blood AOA (antioxidation activity) and vitamin E concentration in blood by spectrophotometry. A disbalance has been found between POL processes and AO protection, which was expressed in antioxidant undersupply, excessive peroxidation caused by primary and final POLs in GMM and blood of CG patients. A prolonged persistence of H. pylori in GMM is treated as the factor able to cause breakage of GMM epithelial biomembrane structure with consequent disorganizing its albumin-lipid complexes and developing excessive peroxidation. A therapeutical scheme (omeprazole, metronidazole, amoxicilline) obtained a further pathogenetic substantiation of B type CG patient treatment with additional antioxidant vitamin E use at the dosage of 300 mg/day for three weeks.
