BACKGROUND
Venous thrombosis has not previously been reported as a complication of lymphocytic gastritis.
METHODS
A 47-year-old patient was admitted for anasarca related to varioliform gastritis. The densitometric examination showed two partial thromboses, at the confluence of the splenic and mesenteric veins and in the postrenal vena cava.
CONCLUSIONS
In patients whose serum albumin levels are very low, the risk of thrombosis of exudative enteropathies should considered.
